(2019) Timothy Ray Brown photographed during an HIV/AIDS workshop at the Seattle Public Library where the second patient cured of the virus was announced and Brown received a cake celebrating his 12 years HIV-free. Brown was cured after being diagnosed with Leukemia and having a bone-marrow transplant with a rare variant of cells with an immunity to HIV. Brown wasn't immediately ailment free and dealt with severe complications from the transplant, but is alive, kind, full of smiles, and loves his espresso. It was a total pleasure to share a few minutes and a cup with him. Article found here.
